Biography

Louise D'Arcy is a Singer-Songwriter from Brisbane, Australia. Picking up her first guitar at age 20 after being inspired by such artists as Jewel and Bob Dylan, Louise developed a love of clever lyric writing and great storytelling.  Louise's intention was to create music that not only sounded great but had a level of depth and social context.

Recording her first 5 song EP in 2008, Long Road combined her love of folk music with catchy rhythmic hooks reminiscent of 80s Pop, never straying far however from what she deemed most important, being smart yet highly emotional and heartfelt lyrics.

In 2005, Louise appeared on Channel Nines Starstruck, performing to a live studio audience. Her song writing achievements include being selected as a top 5 Singer-Songwriter category winner in both the 16th and last years 20th annual Great American Song Contest.  She has also had several honourable mentions for her original compositions in the International Song Door Song Writing Competition.

Louise has gained attention and expanded her fan base through online social media sites including Facebook and Twitter; she was also upgraded to Partner status on YouTube after signing a contract with Canadian online distribution company Broadcorp TV. Her music has been played on various national radio stations and as far abroad as WXPN (88.5Fm) in Philadelphia.

Having completed a Bachelor of Popular Music at Griffith Gold Coast Conservatorium in 2014, Louise has continued to expand her sound, which extends across various genres including Pop, Rock, Folk and Country. She has recorded and released several independent original songs, which have received positive feedback from industry heavyweights and fans alike. Her current release ‘Right Back Where You Are’is available now for streaming on Spotify and for purchase on iTunes and AmazonMP3.
